The madness of the Premier League and the beautiful game

So, I'm starting this blog because the game has gone mad and I'm full of opinions. Some might even say it's broken. But over the years I've come to the conclusion that it is just a game so I'm approaching this blog in much the same way.

I'm an Aston Villa fan and Aston Villa is my team, I even have a blog about them here. But I love football and that is why this site exists. And I have opinions. So how about I start with some of them.

First, I still think that Manchester City can win the League this season. I'm probably in a very small group of people that think this and it wont last for much longer, but I've been convinced by Pep. I never thought he'd do as well, but he has and now he has every manager trying to play the way Pep does.

I also believe that Mikel Arteta is a season or two from winning it (although a player like Alexander Isak will be what does it for them). Bet even then, I'm not convinced by Arteta.

And just to annoy the odd Liverpool fan, Arne Slot is only having the success he's having right now because of all the work Jürgen Klopp did and when he's had long enough to undo all that, we'll see them not winning the League again on a very regular basis.

I also think that VAR is wrong on many levels and should be cancelled, also that PSR is ultimately a good thing but is going to take time, but in time and as long as the right decisions along the way are made, we'll all learn to appreciate it.

Finally on opinions, I like that we're all allowed to have them and my last one is that the most important person at a Football Club is the manager and I think even as the game and Clubs develop, this is going to be clearer and clearer.

Right, that written, I have another post to write somewhere else. And just so you know, if you want to leave a comment, you have to subscribe. That will then give you access.
